KIN FAQ
Q: What are kin shifts?
• In a way, they’re like moods. They’re different for everyone but generally they’re feeling like your kin/or being in their mindset.
Q: How do you know when/that you kin a character?
• Knowing you kin a character is all about what resonates with you, and what feels right. For some it’s looking at that character and going “Wow! That’s me!” and for others it’s “Oh wow, I really relate to them!”. Kinning is all about your beliefs and ideas.
Q: What are kin memories?
• I’d like to preface that not everyone has/gets kin memories! And with that, they’re also not the same for everyone. Some people who get memories will only get loose/vague memories that might only be feelings rather than visual memories. Like any memory, there are many kinds- they could be scents, tastes, sounds, visuals, physical feelings, etc.
Q: Are there different kinds of kins?
• Yes! Besides the fact that Fictionkin is just one branch of KIN, there are many different kinds of kins.
1. ID (identity): your strongest kin/s that you identify as. “This IS ME / I AM __”
2. Selfhood: second kins next to ID’s. It’s like looking at the character and going “This IS me / I AM this character” but not in the same strong way as IDs.
3. Synpath: A character you feel super connected to but dont identify AS but WITH. It’s like the word sympathy- you feel FOR, but not FEEL.
Those tend to be the most common kin terms, but you’ll also see low/high/medium kins which are just extents of kins.
Q: Do you accept requests from FNAF fan games?
• Nope, sorry!
Q: Is it weird to kin multiple characters from the same source?
• Not at all! If you’re really attached to a source it’s super normal to have multiple kins from it.
